Huron University College is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Harvard Business School’s HBX Credential of Readiness (CORe) program. On Friday, February 3 in Boston, Huron Principal Dr. Barry Craig entered into an agreement to collaborate with HBX, Harvard Business School’s digital learning initiative, making Huron University College the second Canadian university and the only university in Ontario to do so. This will help continue to differentiate this strategically small university and ensure that students continue to receive an exceptional undergraduate education as they are challenged to be Leaders with Heart.

“We are immensely pleased and proud to officially become a collaborating institution with Harvard Business School’s HBX CORe program. We know our students are special. They’re not satisfied to sit at the back of a class. They want to find creative solutions to current issues. It’s our job to ensure that they have access to opportunities that will challenge them to grow as learners and citizens. Huron’s new position as a collaborating institution with Harvard Business School’s HBX CORe program is the newest way our students can cultivate their gifts and talents as we challenge them to be Leaders with Heart,” Dr. Craig says.

“We are thrilled to welcome Huron University into the HBX family of collaborating colleges and universities,” said Patrick Mullane, Executive Director of HBX. “The HBX CORe program is an excellent complement to a strong liberal arts education and will connect committed Huron students with a global community of like-minded peers.”

The HBX CORe program is a primer on business fundamentals built around the case method of instruction, with curriculum designed by Harvard Business School faculty in Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting. Regardless of a student’s background, from engineering to the arts, to business, HBX CORe provides Huron students with the skills and confidence needed for success, as well as a strong foundation in business essentials. The multiple durations of study (from 8 to 18 weeks) allows learners to balance the rigours of the program with other responsibilities. Much like Huron, HBX CORe is driven by interactive peer-to-peer engagement and committed to student success: financial aid is available, helping ensure that promising students do not face barriers to access.

This combination of HBX CORe’s active, engaged learning alongside the strategically small advantage of the Huron experience will prepare students to confront contemporary challenges with 21st-century solutions.
