Student Mail

Packages and envelopes will be delivered through the locker system, and you will receive an email with a four (4) digit code to collect your items. Oversized packages and large envelopes will be kept in the Mail Room office for pick up during designated times. You will be contacted at your Western email address once your package has been processed and is available for pickup. You will need to show your student card to pick up mail too large to fit in your mailbox.

What are the In-Person Mailroom Hours?

The mailroom is open from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

What Information Needs to be on the Shipping Address?

Mail for students in residence should be addressed as follows: 

  • Your Name (should agree with the name on your student card)
  • c/o Huron University College
  • Room #, Residence Building (ie. Rm #313, O’Neil/Ridley)
  • 1349 Western Road
  • London, ON  N6G 1H3
Who Can Have Packages Delivered To Huron?

We only accept packages for current Huron students who are living in residence, and Huron Faculty and Staff. All other package will be returned to sender where applicable.

I Lived At Huron Last Year, But Forgot To Change My Address, Can You Hold My Package/mail?

I Received A Message From The Shipper (Amazon,purolator Etc.) That My Package Arrived. Can I Pick It Up Right Now?

We offer same day but not immediate package processing and delivery before 2pm Monday through Friday. Once a package has been processed you will receive an email from the Huron Mailroom letting you know it is available for pickup. We will not release packages that have not been processed by the Huron Mailroom.

During busy times of year and the increased number of packages arriving around the beginning of the Fall and Winter term, and Christmas, we may need additional time to process packages.

My Package Arrived After 2pm, Can I Pick It Up?

Packages are processed and delivered before 2pm Monday – Friday. If you have not received an email that your package is available for pick up from the Huron Mailroom, we ask for your patience as we work through the incoming mail.

I Received An Email From The Mailroom That My Package Is Available For Pick Up. How Do I Collect It?

There are two separate emails for packages.

  1. If your package is in a locker, this will be outlined in the email with a four (4) digit code to pick up your package. The mailroom is closed Monday- Friday from 1pm-2pm for package delivery, and you can pick up your mail any other time that works for you.
  2. If your package is oversized you will receive an email from the mailroom to pick it up during pick up hours 10am-11am and 3pm-4pm.
My Parents Sent Me A Package And It Said It Had Arrived, But I Did Not Get An Email. What Can I Do?

If you have the tracking number, please come to the mailroom. Some packages arrive with the incorrect name on them. For example, if your parent has an amazon account, it may come with their name on it.

If you can provide photo ID and the tracking number, we can release the package to you.

What Name Needs To Be On The Package So I Can Collect It?

The name on all your incoming mail, must match the name on your student card. If there is another name you go by, you need to inform the mailroom at hurmail@uwo.ca that you need to have this name added to your file.

Can My Friend Pick Up My Mail For Me?

If your mail is being the desk for pick up, your friend can pick it up for you. We require you to email hurmail@uwo.ca from your UWO account with your full name and student number, and give permission for your friend to pick it up. We will require their full name and student number for verification.

“I John Smith, 111111111, give permission to Jane Doe, 222222222 to pick up my mail.”

I Received An Email That My Package Arrived A Few Days Ago, But I Have Not Received An Email From The Mailroom. What Should I Do?

There are a few options here, we may have your package with the incorrect name on it. In which case a tracking number and student card will be needed to verify it is your package.

Huron has a safe drop location and signage posted for packages delivered on the weekend or overnight.  and was not left in the designated safe drop location, you will need to contact the shipper.

Can I Send A Package/mail From The Mailroom?

Yes, please come to the mailroom during operating hours and we can assist you with this. We offer shipping through Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, FedEX and DHL and can give you pricing and tracking on your package.

Your package will need to be in a secured box or envelope. If you require packaging, please speak with the mailroom attendant.

Outgoing mail usually goes out by 1pm Monday – Friday

I Ordered Something Online And I Need To Return It. Can I Do This In The Mailroom?

Yes, provided the package is secured in a box/envelope and you provide the return shipping label. We cannot take any packages that do not have a packing slip with them.

Do You Sell Stamps?

Yes, you can purchase a stamp in person at the mailroom, and it can be placed for delivery here as well.

I no longer live at Huron, and I put the wrong address on my package. Can I still collect it?

If we receive a package from Purolator, UPS, DHL, or Canada Post we will mark the package as ‘Return to Sender’, we do not keep packages for students who no longer live on campus.

For Amazon or Intelcom deliveries, it is up to you the customer to contact these shippers directly and let them know your package has been misdelivered and has the wrong address on it. You need to arrange with these companies a way to retrieve your package, as the courier drivers will not take packages back once they have been delivered. We (Huron) will hold packages for a reasonable amount of time, 30 days, before it is disposed of.

Should you request to have an item returned, it must have a return shipping label. Packages that do not have a valid return label will not be picked up from our location.

Alternatively, you can email the mailroom directly at hurmail@uwo.ca, and inform us if a package was accidentally delivered to the mailroom. You will need to provide your full name, address as it appears on the package, and tracking number. Once this information is provided, you will have 30 days from the delivery date of your package, to collect it from the Huron Mailroom. Package pick up is available Monday – Friday from 10am-11am and 3pm-4pm. Photo ID will be required, and the name on the package must match the name on your ID. We cannot release packages of this nature to anyone outside of the individual whose name is on the package. If you cannot pick up your package during this time frame, you must contact the shipper to make alternative arrangements.

We ask that you change your shipping address at your earliest convenience.
