Huron President Dr. Barry Craig is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Wright as Huron’s Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).
“This is an exciting time for Huron’s community as we look to enhance the university’s advancement strategies focusing on fundraising, donor relations, and alumni engagement,” said Dr. Craig. “In the current post-secondary environment, it is necessary now more than ever, for institutions to be proactive in responding to funding challenges. Jeff will be a strong addition to our already accomplished advancement team. I am confident Jeff will bring the leadership knowledge and fundraising expertise required to help us achieve Huron’s goals.”
Jeff has more than 25 years of post-secondary education fundraising and alumni relations experience. Coming from his current role as the Executive Director of Development & Donors Relations at the University of New Brunswick, Jeff brings a deep understanding of the art and science of fundraising, as well as campaign management and donor stewardship strategies. Jeff’s previous roles include Executive Director of Development at Mount Allison University, Senior Director of Development at the University of Calgary, and Vice President – Advancement at St. Thomas University. He has held volunteer roles with the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He is a graduate of Acadia University.
Jeff is excited to join a team and community that is committed to a world-class, meaningful, and experiential undergraduate education that fosters leadership and encourages students to think globally. “I believe Huron grants students a value proposition most institutions cannot offer or uphold. This commitment results in highly talented and mindful students and graduates who change the way our communities and businesses operate. At a macro level, this has the power to change the world,” he adds.
Jeff’s experience and acumen will help build upon Huron’s recent growth and support the Huron community in meeting its goals as outlined within its new strategic plan.
Dr. Craig invites the Huron community to join him in giving Jeff a warm welcome to Huron.
