Huron Appoints Catherine Claydon to Board of Governors

LONDON, ON - Huron University is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Claydon (Lady Tritton) to Huron’s Board of Governors. As a proud Huron alumna, Catherine understands firsthand the value of a liberal arts education in developing well-rounded leaders across various fields. Based in London, England, Catherine brings a wealth of experience in the finance and investment banking industries and will endeavour to further Huron’s global reach.

Her experience as a Huron student, and now as an incredibly successful businesswomen in England, will be of great benefit to our Board as we look to the future,” said Barry Craig, President of Huron University. “I can’t wait to welcome her back to Huron to witness the remarkable changes that our taking place on our campus.”
Catherine’s career trajectory has seen her take high-profile positions in well-known investment portfolios. Currently, she is the Chair of the BBC Pension Trust. She is also an Independent Trustee on the Board of the new British Steel Pension Scheme. Previous appointments have included Deputy Chair of the BT Pension Scheme Trustees Ltd., Independent Trustee, and Chair of Investment Advisory Group of the Barclays UK Retirement Fund, as well as independent member of the Unilever UK Pension Fund Investment Committee. She has held Non-Executive Directorships at the London Metal Exchange Limited, Hermes Fund Managers Ltd, Witan Investment Trust and Dunedin Income Growth Investment Trust. Her executive background includes more than 20 years’ experience in investment banking, with 15 years spent at Goldman Sachs, latterly as a Managing Director in the Pension Advisory Group. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Huron University College and an MBA from The Wharton Business School.
