Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day
November 11, 2021  l  10:45am – 11:15am ET

Tune in over Youtube and join us as students from diverse cultures and languages assist our recollection of the horrors of wars past and present, and our commitment to world peace.

In addition to reading the names of the Huron alumni fallen in the Great Wars, the university recollects alumnus Chaplain Walter Brown who was the first Canadian Chaplain to land on Juno Beach on D-Day.  After several days of ministering to the troops and burying many of the dead, Chaplain Brown was captured by the Germans and subsequently became the only Allied Chaplain to be executed during the Second World War. Padre Brown’s Communion Kit will be displayed on Remembrance Day.

A bugler will sound last post and reveille.  A piper will play the lament.
