Panel: White Christian Nationalism and the U.S. Election

A key issue in the lead-up to the U.S. Election this November 6th is the growing influence of what has been termed “White Christian Nationalism” on right-wing politics in America. But what does this term mean? How “Christian” is it? Join a panel of professors from Huron’s Political Science and Religion & Theology departments as they explore the relationship of emerging “White Christian Nationalism” to Project 2025, to anti-immigration and anti-reproductive justice legislation in the U.S., as well as the attack on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021.

There will be time for Q&A as well as further discussions on the implications of this growing movement for us here in Canada.

Panelists:
Dr. Brett Potter, Theology
Dr. Joshua Samuel, Theology
Dr. Ingrid Mattson, Theology
Dr. Daisy Raphael, Political Science
