History Now! Speaker Series- Amani Whitfield

Join us Friday, October 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Frank Holmes Centre at Huron University, room H112 or on Zoom, for an afternoon of learning about New Directions in Loyalist History, including a key note address from Amani Whitfield.

Starting at 1:00 p.m., New Directions in Loyalist History will feature speakers, Tim Compeau, Huron University (The Loyalist Mirations at 250); Graham Nickerson, Univeristy of New Brunswick (The View from Birchtown: Reshaping the Loyalist Narrative) and Erin Isaac, Western University (Shelburne’s Loyalist Landscapes as Imagined, Designed, Experienced, circa 1783).

At 3:00 p.m., the keynote speaker, Amani Whitfield, Dalhousie Univeristy, will speak on “From Slavery to Slavery: A Black Woman Navigates the Chaos of Revolution and Loyalism.”

The History Now! Speaker Series is a new partnership between Museum London, the Community History Centre and Huron University.
