I enjoyed connecting and networking with students and professors from various industries and learning from one another. I deepened my understanding of how to approach problems from a broadened perspective and developed an appreciation for diversity of thought.
Alvin Omondi completed the Harvard CORe Program in 2021 and achieved a final designation of Passing with Honours. Through this program, Alvin was able to deepen his understanding of business fundamentals, such as Business Analytics and Financial Accounting. Alvin says, “I enjoyed learning about Business Analytics and how data analysis can impact businesses.” Alvin utilized Microsoft Excel software to generate regression analysis, test various hypotheses, and sample data that taught him new ways of solving a variety of topics and concerns that businesses may face. Alvin says that he enjoyed learning from top professors at Harvard, and that the Financial Accounting course formed the basis for his accounting course at Huron in his second year, ultimately setting him up for success.
Alvin says that participating in this program was a valuable learning experience, and that the new skills that he’s developed, such as better articulating his ideas and communicating with others, will help him both academically and professionally.
