The endowed scholarship will support future leaders in Huron’s Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) program, helping talented students pursue a business education grounded in purpose and impact.
London, ON – Huron University is proud to announce a $500,000 commitment from Brookfield and Huron alumna and board member, and Brookfield’s Head of Communications Suzanne Fleming, to establish the Brookfield Scholarship, an endowed fund designed to expand access to business education for high-achieving students facing financial barriers.
The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student entering the Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) program. Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.
At Huron, scholarships like the Brookfield Scholarship play a critical role in removing financial barriers to education. This support helps ensure students can focus on their studies, participate fully in the Huron experience, and graduate with the skills and experience needed to succeed. Alongside paid internship opportunities and a personalized liberal arts education, students gain the skills and hands-on experience needed to launch meaningful careers.
“My experience at Huron has stayed with me throughout my career. It has informed how I think and lead, and supporting this scholarship was a natural decision,” said Suzanne Fleming ’90. “Investing in young people who will go on to be leaders with integrity and create lasting impact is both a privilege and an imperative, and increasing access to a Huron education is one of the most meaningful ways to support that.”
This investment reflects the continued impact of Huron alumni in shaping opportunities for future students.
Key details of the Brookfield Scholarship include:
As an endowed fund, the Brookfield Scholarship will provide support to students in perpetuity, reinforcing Huron’s commitment to removing financial barriers at a time when the cost of obtaining a post-secondary education continues to rise.
Graduates of Huron’s liberal arts programs, shaped through small class sizes, close faculty mentorship and a focus on developing Leaders with Heart, bring highly sought-after skills in critical thinking, communication and problem-solving, valued across today’s business environment and beyond.
“Brookfield is one of the greatest business success stories in Canada’s history. To have their support for Huron’s mission is immensely gratifying. Suzanne Fleming’s role, both at Brookfield and on the Huron board, is a representation of leadership with heart. This gift will ensure that even more talented students will be able to access the unique education provided at Huron. We are grateful for this partnership and excited about the lasting impact it will have.” – Dr. Barry Craig, President of Huron University.
