Meet the Advisory Committee
The India Advisory Committee is a strategic advisory group formed by Huron University to guide its expansion and engagement efforts in India. Comprised of esteemed leaders from business, diplomacy, policy and education, the Committee offers expert insights on university partnerships, corporate collaboration, and regulatory navigation.
Ajay Bisaria – Ambassador, Strategic Advisor & Commentator

Ajay Bisaria is a former civil servant who has had a distinguished diplomatic career spanning 35 years, dealing with some of India’s key economic and security relationships. He served as the High Commissioner of India to Canada from March 2020 till June 2022. He was earlier India’s envoy in Pakistan, Poland and Lithuania. He has also represented India at the World Bank in Washington DC and in Embassies in Berlin and Moscow. He has served in various capacities in India in the Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Commerce and the Prime Minister’s Office, where he was a key aide to Prime Minister AB Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004. He has dealt extensively with India’s Eurasia policy, including with Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia. He writes and speaks on geopolitical and foreign policy issues. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi University, an MBA from IIM Calcutta and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Princeton University.
Anita Marangoly George – CEO & Co-Founder, ProsperETE

Anita Marangoly George has a distinguished track record in sustainable investments across the globe. Ms George has played key leadership roles in the last six years with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Canada’s second largest pension fund manager, with CAD400 billion under management. She led CDPQ’s office in India, and all Emerging Markets as Executive Vice President and Deputy Head of CDPQ Global covering all geographies outside Canada. Prior to CDPQ, Ms. George spent twenty-two years with the World Bank Group leading both public and private sector investments in infrastructure across various geographies. She was the Sr. Director heading the Energy, Oil and Gas and Mining global practice for the World Bank Group from 2014 to 2016. She has led global agreements addressing climate change during her tenure at the World Bank Group.
Ms George is a member of the Indo-Canadian Business Chambers and was President between 2020 to 2022. Ms George is currently on the Boards of First Solar, United States, and Piramal Enterprises Limited, India, as an Independent Director. Ms. George is part of the Advisory Council of the Berkeley Labs India Energy and Climate Center at the University of California and on the Chandrakanta Kesavan Center for Energy Transition and Climate at IIT, Kanpur. In recognition of her work in sustainability, Ms George has been awarded Honorary Doctorate degrees (LLD) from Huron University and Concordia University, Canada.
Ms George has helped companies globalize, anticipate and address technology and people as two essential pillars of success.
Bobby Parikh – Founder, Bobby Parikh Associates

Bobby Parikh is the Managing Partner of Bobby Parikh Associates, a boutique firm focused on providing strategic tax and regulatory advisory services.
Over the years, Parikh has had extensive experience in advising clients across a range of industries. India has witnessed significant deregulation and a progressive transformation of its policy framework. An area of focus for Parikh has been to work with businesses, both Indian and multinational, in interpreting the implications of the deregulation as well as the changes to India’s policy framework, to help businesses better leverage opportunities that have become available and to address challenges that resulted from such changes. Parikh has led teams that have advised clients in the areas of entry strategy (MNCs into India and Indian companies into overseas markets), business model identification, structuring a business presence, mergers, acquisitions and other business reorganizations.
Parikh was most recently co-founder of BMR Advisors, a highly regarded tax and transactions firm which he helped establish and run for over 12 years. Prior to forming BMR Advisors, Parikh was the Chief Executive Officer of Ernst & Young in India and held that responsibility until December 2003. Parikh worked with Arthur Andersen for over 17 years and was its Country Managing Partner until the Andersen practice combined with that of Ernst & Young in June 2002. Parikh led the Financial Services industry practice at Arthur Andersen and then also at Ernst & Young.
Parikh is a graduate in Commerce from the University of Mumbai and qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1987.
Hari K Marar – Managing Director & CEO, Bangalore International Airport Limited

Hari is the Managing Director & CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL). He is responsible for the management, growth and development of Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, and its subsidiaries. The role involves setting the strategic vision for the Airport and the Airport city, planning and implementing the development roadmap and taking key strategic decisions.
Hari was part of the core leadership team that successfully licensed and operationalised the Greenfield airport project at Bengaluru. In this role, he defined the operational concept of this Greenfield airport and introduced and implemented several modern, state-of-the-art airport management systems. He also conceived and built up an Airport Operations organization so as to ensure complete operational readiness to provide world-class service to passengers. Hari is extremely passionate about the role corporates have to play in sustainable practices and community development.
Hari is a food and wine enthusiast and a hobby chef. As an avid Gastronome he loves experimenting with food, exploring cuisines and going on Gastronomic holidays. He is also passionate about cricket, music, movies and is an avid reader of mystery novels.
Ipsita Dasgupta – Managing Director & Senior Vice President, HP

Ipsita Dasgupta serves as the Managing Director of HP’s India Market, comprising India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. In this role, Ipsita is responsible for all aspects of the go-to-market strategy and P&L for HP’s fastest growing market, spanning the company’s broad portfolio of products and services across commercial, consumer, and public sector.
Ipsita is a seasoned leader who brings a wealth of strategic business expertise to her new role at HP, with 24 years of international operating experience across various industries. She has invested more than half of her career leading P&Ls across multiple industries and the other half leading Marketing, Strategy and Growth functions for global multinationals (both B2B and B2C), with regional and global responsibilities.
Prior to joining HP, Ipsita served as the Senior Director of Marketing for Apple Services HQ. In this role, she led Global Synergy Marketing, External Partnership Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Market and Competitive Intelligence for Apple’s subscription services.
Prior to Apple, Ipsita held a variety of executive positions including President of Corporate Strategy and Incubated Business at Star India, A Walt Disney Company; Chief Commercial Officer for South Asia and Greater China at General Electric Company and Managing Director of Smart Connected Communities — Emerging Markets at Cisco.
Ipsita holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from Columbia University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
She resides in Mumbai, with her husband and two children.
Paul Abraham – President, Hinduja Foundation

Paul Abraham is President of the Hinduja Foundation which is the Philanthropic arm of the Hinduja Group. The Foundation also acts as a coordinating body for the CSR spends of the 14 companies of the group on the ground in India. They work in key areas like Water Stewardship, Health and Education. Paul also sits on the Boards of the Not for profit Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai and PD Hinduja Hospital Bangalore.
Paul’s career in Banking spanned over 38 years across multiple functions and international geographies. Paul is currently an Advisor at IndusInd Bank.
Paul Abraham is an art patron and collector of historical artefacts, modern and contemporary art and living traditions from the Indian subcontinent. He founded Sarmaya Museum in 2015 to foster a love for art and history among the young and the curious. In addition, he is on the Governing Board of Dakshinachitra Museum (Madras Crafts Foundation) in Chennai and is Chairman of the Board of Sanctuary Nature Foundation an organization in the Wildlife and Conservation space. He is also an Advisor to the Indian Sanitation Council hosted by FICCI.
Paul is an investor and mentor in the early stage venture capital space and is invested in startups in the Fintech and FMCG spaces.
Paul has a Post Graduate Degree in Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Hons) from St Stephen’s College Delhi.
Renu Basu – Advisor, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL)

Renu Basu is a seasoned sales and marketing leader with over 30 years of experience across customer management, brand strategy, digital marketing, loyalty programs, and revenue growth. As the former Senior Vice President –Global Sales & Marketing at IHCL (Taj Hotels), she led transformative initiatives that elevated Taj to the position of the world’s strongest hotel brand (Brand Finance, 2021).
She brings deep expertise in customer-centric strategy, having served on Tata Group’s advisory council on customer experience and led high-impact programs in brand advocacy. Renu has held key leadership roles across industry bodies, including Chairperson of the Western India Tourism Council and executive member of PATA India.
She currently serves on the boards of Nomura Capital (India), Unity Small Finance Bank,Rolex Watch Co. India, Tata Unistore(Tata CLiQ)and is a retained advisor to IHCL( Taj Hotels) & Air India. A champion of inclusion, she has led corporate governance and POSH initiatives and is actively involved in mentoring women leaders.
Renu holds degrees inLaw and Psychology, along with a Diploma in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Instituteof Management Studies(JBIMS). She is passionate about Indian art, textiles, classical music, and travel.
Sumit Maheshwari – Managing Director & CEO, Fairbridge Capital

Sumit Maheshwari has been the Managing Director & CEO of Fairbridge Capital since May 2018, playing a pivotal role in sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and executing investment opportunities. Since joining Fairbridge in 2011, he has overseen key investments in Bangalore International Airport, Sanmar Group, CSB Bank, Fairchem Organics, and several others. Sumit also serves on the boards of various Fairfax portfolio companies.
A seasoned investment professional with deep experience in both private and public Indian companies, Sumit manages over $7 billion in Indian investments for Fairfax Financial Holdings and Fairfax India Holdings. He excels in conducting due diligence, managing high governance, and providing strategic direction to portfolio companies. His success is driven by his ability to partner with high-quality business owners, maintain strong governance, and nurture relationships with stakeholders. Sumit is deeply connected within the Indian business community and is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (Mumbai Chapter).
Before Fairbridge, Sumit worked with KPMG in India and the UK, specializing in audit and advisory services. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Post Graduate Program in Management from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Sumit is a value-investing advocate, committed to creating long-term sustainable growth in India.
Madhavan Menon – Non-Executive Chairman, Thomas Cook (India) Limited

Mr. Madhavan Menon joined Thomas Cook India in 2000 as the Executive Director responsible for the Foreign Exchange business and stepped up to the position of Managing Director in January 2006; Chairman & Managing Director in January 2016; and Executive Chairman effective July 2023.
Madhavan completed his MBA from George Washington University and undergraduate degree from American University of Beirut.
Madhavan has a varied background, having commenced his career in banking at
Grindlays Bank, Citibank and Emirates Bank and in Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company.
Madhavan is a member on the Board of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. and holds directorship in various subsidiaries of the company and Catholic Syrian Bank (member of Fairfax India Ltd.) He is also the Chairman of the Fairfax India Charitable Foundation that focuses on bringing down the cost of treating kidney related ailments in India.
During his tenure, Thomas Cook India has made several acquisitions, noteworthy being Kuoni’s Destination Management Specialists across 17 countries and acquisition of DEI (one of the world’s leading imaging solutions and services providers).

Caleb Hayhoe is the Founder & Chairman of Flowerdale Group and a Huron Class of ’85 Alumnus. Flowerdale Group is a Hong Kong based family office with a global investment outlook across public markets, real estate and private investment. Hayhoe previously spent over ten years building a global sourcing business together with an exceptional team, and remains committed to entrepreneurialism and helping great ideas become sustainable companies.
