DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with our Students’ Council, Huron’s Alumni Association is proud to invite you to join us on March 3 as we delve into discussions surrounding the value of diversity in the workplace and the challenges that currently exist for Black Canadians in business.\nAs Chairman of The Canadian Council of Business Leaders Against Anti-Black Systemic Racism and the BlackNorth Initiative, Wes Hall is committed to getting more Black executives in Canadian boardrooms by removing systemic barriers and creating new opportunities for the next generation.\nComing from very humble beginnings in Jamaica, Wes has since established himself as the preeminent leader in shareholder advisory services, with The Globe and Mail calling him one of the nation’s “most influential power brokers,” and Maclean’s magazine ranking him number 16 on their 2021 Power List of the “50 most powerful people in Canada.” Having worked his way up from the mailroom on Bay Street, he is now focusing on ways to keep the boardroom door open for others.\nWe hope that you are able to join us for this important conversation as we explore how we can create more equitable representation and empower diverse voices in both the classroom and in the workplace.\nREGISTER HERE\n
